Experience the Joy of Yoga
People need to appreciate yoga more. Whether that be aerial yoga, yin yoga, or restorative yoga, these practices are so beneficial. I started going to yoga every Tuesday night at the UNF recwell. During this hour of practice, it is mostly yin yoga, which is just holding various poses for several minutes to connect and reach more specific parts of the body. Ever since I started going, I have felt so much more peaceful, and it's one of my favorite parts of the week.
I highly recommend trying some form of yoga. I know it can be nerve-wracking to try a class and have no idea what you're getting yourself into, but yoga is a very flexible and inclusive practice. Anyone can do it!
Here are some different types of yoga that you could try and see which ones are your favorite and work best for you!
- Acro Yoga
-Aerial Yoga
-Hot Yoga
-Power Yoga
-Yin Yoga
I've tried all these, and it's hard to pick a favorite. They all provide something different for your body, mind, and spirit. There are also so many benefits to each practice. Some benefits are a better body image, increased flexibility, improved athletic performance, cardiovascular benefits, muscle strength and tone, improved energy, and so much more. To read a little more in-depth about the different practices and the various benefits of yoga, I attached the link to three insightful articles below.
