Fitness Tips and Tricks

Fitness is tough to get used to, especially if you don't know where to start. I have some easy tips and tricks to share that might help you increase your habits and skills when it comes to physical activity.

Tip #1: Plan your workout routine. This could be right before you go to the gym and plan that day, or you could plan a whole week of workouts. For example, if I want to work on my legs that day, I will get on Pinterest or TikTok and find specific workouts that target the legs and right down in my notes app. Then, I will figure out how many sets and reps I want to do. It would look something like this-

Deadlifts 3x12 (3 sets and 12 reps)

Back squat 3x15

Dumbbell lunges 2x10

This helps you focus on a goal when you are at the gym and not wonder what's next or waste any time.

Tip #2: Log your Workouts. Logging your workouts will help motivate you. You can either do a physical journal or log it in your notes app on your phone. Log how much time you spent in the gym, how many calories you burned, what part of the body you focused on, and maybe some other facts. For instance, if you ran, then you would put the miles, etc. It would be something like this-

Day: Legs (Quad focused)

Time- 60 mins

Calories- 340

Logging your workouts will help keep you consistent because, in a way, it makes you feel like you're trying to beat a goal every time.

Tip #3: Set a specific time of your day to work out. It's important to plan ahead. When you plan out a time to go to the gym and fit it into your schedule, you'll most likely feel more productive and less likely to skip it. I know when I don't plan a time to go, I end up doing something else instead. However, some people aren't planners and just go whenever they think about it. Either way is great as long as you get there!
